Host Hotel for the 2008 Highland Games

*Note: Early booking is recommended due to convention competition for rooms the week of the KC Games. Please book early if possible!

The primary host hotel is Extended Stay America-Kansas City Airport at 11712 NW Plaza Circle, Kansas City, MO 64153 (just off the 112th St. exit from I-29). The phone # is 816-270-7829. Each room has a queen-sized bed and a recliner; a kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop and dining and cooking utensils; a workplace with computer dataport and high-speed Internet access (fees apply for Internet use); free local phone calls and voice mail; and an iron and full size ironing board. The hotel provides free shuttle service from and to the airport. There is a laundry room and several vending machines. Though this hotel does not usually provide continental breakfasts, they have agreed to provide them for us on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The cost per room per night for our block is $57 plus taxes.

Check in is at 3 p.m. and check out by 11 a.m. As usual, everyone will need to present a credit card at check in; and his/her credit card will be charged for any long-distance calls, Internet charges or pay-for-view movies.

We do have a secondary host hotel, owned by the same company and with the same Area Operations Manager, for people coming for the Games who are willing to pay more ($61 for room with 1 bed) for more amenities. It is the Homestead Studio Suites at 9701 N. Shannon Avenue, KC, MO 64153 (just off the Tiffany Springs Parkway exit from I-29). The phone # is 816-891-8500. The rooms at this hotel also have all the things the Extended Stay America has, but a sofa sleeper rather than a recliner; and free continental breakfasts will be available there also (they will provide them for us Saturday and Sunday mornings). The hotel also has a small fitness center and a patio with an outdoor pool and a grill. Guests at Extended Stay America will be allowed to use the fitness center and pool, but they would have to have a way to get from one hotel to the other.
